Prof. Rai's journey in law began at one of India's most prestigious institutions, Banaras Hindu University (Varanasi) , where he completed his LL.B. and LL.M. degrees. BHU, with its rich tradition of legal scholarship and intellectual rigor, provided him with a strong foundation in legal principles and jurisprudence. The training he received at this iconic institution shaped his analytical abilities and instilled in him a deep appreciation for the philosophical underpinnings of law.

Driven by a passion for research and academic excellence, he subsequently pursued his Ph.D. from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly Agra University) .
